BIOGRAPHY:
Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al Minshawi (January 1, 1920 – June 20, 1969) was an Egyptian Quranic reciter. Son of the great Sheikh Siddiq El-Minshawi, his brother Sheikh Mahmoud El-Minshawi is also a famous reciter.
Having been significantly influenced by his father, Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al Minshawi was also a protégé of the venerable Sheikh Mohamed Salamah, a great reciter of the 20th century. He studied the rules of recitation under the respected Sheikh Ibrahim As-Su’oodi at a young age.
Muhammad Siddiq Al Minshawi is especially admired for the immense spirituality of his recitation. He had a smooth style, which could move the listener to tears.
Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al Minshawi has become a household name across the Muslim world. He travelled to many countries outside of his homeland, including Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Palestine (Al-Aqsa Mosque), Saudi Arabia and Syria.
